Please note:
Documents drawn up in German can only be legalized if a translation in English or Arabic is attached. This translation must be certified by the competent district court president.
- Commercial documents such as certificates of origin, commercial invoices, certificates of analysis, etc. must be certified by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce responsible for your company headquarters.
- Health, health or radioactivity certificates for foodstuffs, food additives, meat or poultry products and beverages must be notarized by your responsible health or veterinary office or alternatively the regional council.
- All official documents (powers of attorney, agency agreements, extracts from the commercial register, notarial certifications, etc.) must be pre-certified by the competent regional court.
- Private documents, in the sense of documentary documents, must be pre-certified by the notary and the district court.
- The district offices are responsible, for example, for notarizing birth certificates and certificates of no impediment to marriage.
Copies can only be certified if the original stamp of the German authorities has been affixed.
Please submit one copy of each document for retention at the embassy.
