Visa Applications / Entry Requirements: Australia
A visa or entry permit is generally required for all travelers to enter Australia, except for citizens of New Zealand. In addition to the visa types listed under “eVisa”, there are a number of different visa categories depending on nationality, purpose and duration of stay. All visas are applied for electronically (eVisa).
To find out which visa applies to your trip, use the Visa Finder of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs.
For example, German citizens traveling as TOURISTS or those traveling as BUSINESS TRAVELERS must apply for a so-called eVisitor visa.
German citizens traveling as technicians or mechanics or for other short-term work assignments require a visa in the category “Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity)” (subclass 400 visa).
Further information about this visa can be found here.
