Citizens of Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Hungary, Cyprus are exempt from visa requirements for business, tourism, family and friends visits, academic and cultural exchanges, and transit for stays of up to 30 days until December 31, 2025. This does not apply to the provisional passport.
In addition, from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, all those applying for a single or double entry visa within 180 days are fingerprint-free.
The following regulations continue to apply to all travelers who wish to stay in China for longer than 30 days or who require a Z, C or X visa:
As of August 26, 2024, there is a new application process. All applicants must create an account on the Application Center website to complete the application. In the course of this, all the required documents must be uploaded and only after preliminary review and approval by the Application Center can the application be submitted by SERVISUM.

You compile all the required documents and send them with the form for application assistance (see the second black box on the right) by e-mail to the respective Servisum office. You can find out which documents you need via the links below. - Provision of the completed application
SERVISUM will send you the completed visa application by e-mail after it has been checked and approved by the Chinese Visa Application Center (CVASC). - Sending the original documents/appointments at CVASC
You send the original passport, the signed data protection declaration, the signed application and a biometric passport photo to SERVISUM and we will arrange an appointment for you to have your fingerprints taken at CVASC (if required) and inform you about it. - Appointment/submitting documents
On the day of the appointment, you will meet a SERVISUM employee at the CVASC who will assist you throughout the application process. If fingerprinting is not required, we will submit the documents for you. - Collection and inspection of the visa-stamped passport and return shipment
As soon as your visa is issued, SERVISUM will collect your passport for you and return it to you.

To prepare the visa application for you, we need the following documents to be sent via email to the respective SERVISUM office:
- Scan of the passport
First two pages with personal data (JPG) - Biometric passport photo

- Scan of the data protection declaration (PDF or JPG)
- Non-EU citizens: Scan of residence permit front and back (PDF or JPG)
- Non-German EU citizens: Scan of registration certificate, not older than 6 months (PDF or JPG)
- Additionally for business trips:
- Scan of the invitation from China (PDF or JPG)
- Secondment letter from the employer (PDF or JPG) - and for annual visas:
