Please note:
- All documents must include the Iraqi recipient's address.
- Certificates of origin and commercial invoices are only legalized together.
- All commercial documents, such as certificates of origin, commercial invoices and packing lists, must be pre-certified by the relevant Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The following clause must appear on the back of the certificate of origin: “We hereby declare that the mentioned merchandise is being exported on our own account. The goods are pure (enter country) origin”. Please enter ‘merchandise’ for goods and ‘foodstuff’ for food.
- Health certificates, fitness certificates and food certificates must be pre-certified by the responsible health or veterinary office.
- For food exports, a health certificate must be submitted for legalization.
- All official documents such as agency agreements, manufacturer confirmations and powers of attorney are certified by the local notary and the competent district court.
- Commercial register extracts must be certified by the district court and patent applications by the patent office.
The following papers must be enclosed with the certificate of origin and the commercial invoice in copy:
- Bill of lading (conveyance)
- Insurance contract for the goods
- Product test certificate (only accepted from BV France, Bureau Veritas, Tüv, Baltic Control Danish, Contecta Switzerland)
Please submit one copy of each document to the embassy. All commercial documents must be pre-certified by the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs (BfAA) and GHORFA. SERVISUM
will be happy to do this for you.
Due to the gradual digitalization of the application process for pre-certification at the BfAA, we ask that you send the document to be legalized in advance, completely scanned, by email to SERVISUM.
Certificates of origin and commercial invoices do not need to be pre-certified by the BfAA.
Processing time (without guarantee):

plus 1-3 working days processing time for the GHORFA and, if necessary, the BfAA of approx. 2-3 weeks
